Alarm Clock

Alarm Clock - I love you and I hate you.

I love that you help me wake up on time to fulfill my commitments.

I love that I can count on you to penetrate my deepest sleep - to save me from my worst nightmare.

And I love that I can look at you and know what time of day it is - how much time has passed and how much time I have left in the day.

But oh, how I also hate some commitments I have in the day, that you wake me up to. Sometimes when I hear you, I think of all the things I worry about!

And how I hate the sound you make that wakes me up.

But your dependability is much appreciated. I would be more stressed doing the things I hate and being late than if I were on time!

You are the first thing I hear when I wake up. I can count on you to say, "Wake up! Time to get dressed and exercise! Exercise is good for you! Today could be the best day of your life!"

So thank you, alarm clock. Your good outweighs the bad!

(I was going to post about Eco Cup, and started an entry but had to fix things at work!)

Eco Cup

Eco Cup

Isn't he cool?? This is Eco Cup. I bought him at Walgreen's last week. He is a ceramic mug that looks like a disposable mug. I try to use reusable mugs all the time - of course I am not perfect and sometimes get a drink and don't have a mug with me. But I like reusable mugs because I save the environment and money (as refills in reusable mugs are cheaper than using styrofoam).

My hope is that others will think this is a cute mug and be encouraged to by their own reusable mug so that landfills are clogged with less trash!

White Breeze: The Wind Chime

He is the fifth generation of Apple Inc, portable media player company, and his new in the apartment. The only time he has is when he sleeps. He is 2 years old and suffers from panic attacks; his name is iPod Classic.

I met him in the living room. The wind kissed me goodbye and woke him up. That was our first step of acquaintance.

"You woke me up," croaked the iPod on the study table. " I have long working hours ahead...never mind" he further grumbled.
"I..I am sorry..." I expressed my regrets.
Still being slightly disoriented, the iPod asked, "Who are you?"
"My name is White Breeze," I said.

"White what? The now awake iPod scrutinized me for a minute.
I fidgeted slightly and produced some 'Ting Ting' resonance.

"You are a wind chime aren't you? What more an aging one. Pity you. Always suspended in mid-air. Do you not get nauseas? chided iPod.
"I may be old and immobile," I agreed. "A bit stiff, neck pains occasionally but I am content," I said smiling, causing some "Ting Ting' resonance again.

"Your resonance annoys me" grumbled iPod. "Do you know who I am? Do you know I am the latest gadget on earth? I can hold up to 40,000 songs, 200 hours of video, or 25,000 photos with my memory. That's more than enough room for a day's - or a lifetime's - worth of entertainment." Boasted the iPod.

Before I could reply, iPod started shaking and sweating. Words on his screen started flickering on and off. The control on his body began to swirl non-stop liked a windstorm. "I...I can't...can't brea..." iPod choked.

His hyperventilating! I realized. I need to do something. Think. Think. I spun around helplessly...Then, an idea hit me. The only way to draw attention from anyone, if there is anyone in the apartment at all is to start making lots of noise. I spun and spun and spun and spun... I had no idea how many rounds I had rotated until Master came into the living room looking confused.

"I forgot to close the window again. Didn't I?" Master approached me and interrupted my spinning with his fingers. Looking outside, Master gave me a quizzical look "There is no wind, why are you spinning as if a windstorm is about to approach?" Master turned his back to me and was about to leave the room when iPod's flickering screen finally caught his attention.

"Oh, no!"Master shrieked. "The drizzle last night must have damaged you." muttered Master in dissatisfaction. Sighing. Master turned his attention to me. Caressing me and said, "Whether it rains or not, storm or no storm, you are the best. You do not break or damage easily. There's a certain sound in you that relaxes me."

Coz I Know You Like It

It was intimidating at first.
Though you are the ultimate gift from the Pastry God,
I was afraid of your calories.
I was afraid of your carbs.

I heard you are addictive.
But not in the same sense as nicotine.
Just a nibble.
I convinced myself.

Nibble-d.
Another bite.

Like Don Juan,
You are...
Smooth and luscious on my tongue.
  Tangoing with the enzymes.
   Unhurriedly melting in my mouth.
    The experience is just...
                         Quintessential.

Cinnamon, more precious than gold!

The restricted vertical dimension of your body does not
prevent you from being one of the most adored spices
in the kitchen.
The sienna colour of your body itself
radiates with hot beverages.
Before you lose flavour,
I shall sprinkle your powdered form
to enhance the flavour of the meat.
I shall mellow the tartness of apple with you.
You shall dove-tail with chocolate cake.
Oh, sweet down-to-earth cinnamon,
you are more precious than gold!

さくら At Night

A night full of love
a night full of butterfly
a night full of caress
a night full of kiss
a night of bliss
a night of Sakuras...

Strawberries

Dearest Strawberries,

Your friend, Mulberry says you are pretty from head to toe and I couldn't agree more...The chartreuse emerald hat you put on your head harmonizes with those cute little freckles of your deep red colour heart shaped physique. Brightening up both taste and aesthetics of any meal, no wonder you are the most popular berry in the world.
