Happy Halloween!
Sunday is actual Halloween Day in America, but I'll be celebrating it on Saturday with my dad's family (Oct. 30th, Devil's Night is my grandma's birthday) where we will dress up in costumes, have a nice lunch and dessert and candy. I love Halloween because we celebrate Grandma's birthday and we get to see our family...and it is fun dressing up! Then on Sunday we will celebrate Halloween and Phil's birthday with a dinner at his mom's house (no dressing up though). I am not sure if the kids go Trick-or-Treating on Saturday or Sunday, it depends on when your local city or subdivision designates for it because they have a curfew of when people are supposed to stop knocking on doors to "trick-or-treat" for candy. I wish we had kids come to our apartment for trick-or-treating so I can see their costumes, but we live in the end apartments so maybe kids don't go that far back or something.
Yesterday was sooo windy! I tried to run at lunch, and when I ran against the wind it would have a wind gust that would stop me dead in my tracks. When I ran with it, it pushed me so hard it made me run faster! Much of Phil's family are without power, I have to see if my parents have power at their house. We live in the city and so we do not lose power very often, probably because of all the businesses, hospitals and doctor's offices around need to keep power.
Anyway I hope everyone is having a good day and has a good weekend, and I will try to post Halloween pictures in my next post! I am going to be a Mime...

New Curtains
I made some curtains form my house a couple weeks ago - this is for the kitchen door which looks out to the parking lot. They are fall themed, so I'll have to start making some for winter theme! Not my favorite craft to make, but sure is needed since the blinds that were at the apartment when we moved in were old and broken. The fabric is orange with red leaves, and I glued some plastic leaf buttons at the top to hide my "mistakes" and add some flair!

I Love Autumn!!
My favorite season is here!
I love autumn. The leaves are changing colors right now and are very pretty. I see a lot of reds and yellows on my way home from work. It is also getting colder at night, down in the 30's and 40's (degrees F) and only getting to the 60's during the day. If I could live in autumn all year long, I wouldn't mind!
I decorated the house a little bit for Halloween. Went to the dollar store for some ceramic pumpkins and candy dishes, and filled the dishes with some delicious candy :). I also bought a bundle of eucalyptus plants to put in a large vase at the bottom of my stairs so that when I walk in the apartment, it will smell like the plant. This reminds me of my grandparents' old house, and when we were kids, they had this beautiful vase of dried eucalyptus plants and flowers in the sun room, so the scent reminds me of that.
Do any of you celebrate Halloween? For my family, we have a nice little costume party at my grandparents' place because my Grandma's birthday is Oct. 30th (Halloween is Oct. 31st). This year my brother, sister and I are dressing up as different types of clowns. I am going to be a mime, my sister is going as the Joker from the Batman movies and my brother is going as an old fashioned clown (I forget what it is called). I will be sure to post photos of that after the birthday party!
The picture was taken in a pine forest by my parents' house - it is part of Huron National Forest.
