You're Alive. Do Something!

We are Family!
August has been a good month for me.My wedding ceremony was not perfect but it went quite well. My parents and sister's visit were great. I enjoyed their stay very much. My family interacted well with Jun's family despite the language barrier. Talk about gestures!

Witnessing my parents saying basic Japanese phrases, my sister trying out the Japanese delicacies and vice versa from Jun's family, their visit and actions truly  inspired me to do something out of my comfort zone. I have always dislike taking pictures because I feel that I do not look "good" enough. I don't have a powerful voice to perform well in karaoke sessions. Therefore, I have decided to take more photos when I attend any interesting festivals and parties. As for the singing, I suppose it takes practice especially singing in Japanese! Its all about fun!

Aside from challenging myself, I also love to challenge people around me to be healthy and productive. For instance, I am happy that my sister finally decides she likes yoghurt after trying the kiwi yoghurt from the convenience store here. I am also trying to get my mother-in-law to stretch and lose weight. I am also trying to encourage my brother-in-law to read newspapers.

Healthy Self-Esteem in Da Process
Before changing the world, it takes great steps to encourage people around you to change for the better. It takes time, effort and patience. Wish me luck! 10 more days before September kicks in and I am looking forward to have a healthy self-esteem family in the making!

Hi Lim Kim!

Ever since I have known you, you have been good at encouraging people to do things to make their lives better. I remember we went grocery shopping one day when we were at SVSU, and you were helping me to find shampoo and conditioners that were good for hair--and I still abide by the advice today!!

I like the pictures, maybe I should put more family pictures into my posts?? I'm going on vacation next weekend so maybe I will have some nice pictures then!

We are going to a place on the bay of Lake Huron, I am not sure of the name of the place - in fact, we still need to get directions on how to get there! Hopefully we won't get lost!!

Lolz I see myself featuring in your blog. And yes, I can't believe I only discovered my love for yoghurt after 22 years - but, hey! better late than never!!!

And as for taking pics, it's okay! I don't think I look good in pics too but it's not like I'm here to win Miss Photogenic! And sometimes it's not so nice to be a wet blanket, so I just screw the whole 'I have oily face' idea and strike a pose + smile! If you're genuinely happy, it'll show in the pic. :)

Same goes to karaoke. You're there to have fun! Not win American Idol!!! So flush all your inhibitions down the toilet and go out and scream your lungs out!!!
