Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each. Henry Thoreau

Halloween Picture
Hello!
I promised that I would post a photo from our Halloween party, and here it is! I should have put more white paint on my face, but oh well!
One of the things that is somewhat frustrating for many people I know is how in America, we go right from Halloween to Christmas - no Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is a time to remember how fortunate we are and to remember the stories of how our ancestors began their life on American soil. It is a time to remember how blessed we are and to feel grateful for the food we eat, the clothes on our back and the roof over our heads. In the Walmart in my town they were stocking Christmas decorations and candy the week before Halloween! I was so angry. Now all I see is the rush to get Christmas presents for your friends and family so that you will be ready for Christmas, which is over a month away.
On Thanksgiving I will be going to my mom's mom house. We only see that family on Good Friday (by Easter) and Thanksgiving, so I am excited to go over there. She makes the best mashed potatoes and gravy!! I am making myself hungry!!
