Height difference

I am currently watching the women's volleyball tournament live. Quoting from the Federation International Volleyball's(FIVB) book of rules, volleyball is supposed to be fast, exciting and explosive. Of course, for whoever that wrote the rules, they forgot to mention that player's height matters too. I might be whining because one might says basketball players are tall too. Look at Yao Ming. However, basketball scoring is through individuals whereas volleyball scores are through the creativity of the team. It will be a boring match if you have tall players playing against shorter players. And some countries do have this advantage compared to other countries, which means that countries with short players will never have the chance to taste the gold medal no matter how good and powerful they are. I hope the FIVB will put the player's height into consideration in the future. My suggestion is that players as tall as the volleyball net can play, but they cannot be in the court for the whole entire set game.

That is a good point. I have only watched high school girls volleyball in the U.S. and for the most part, the kids were all about the same height. This I'm sure makes it seem more fair. I will have to try to watch volleyball on TV. Do they play in the sand or like in a gym on a gymnasium floor?

Oh this is not beach volleyball so they play inside the stadium. I think beach volleyball is much more difficult than the indoor stadium. I am not good at playing volleyball though. I have this fear that my fingers are going to break when I defend the ball with my fingers. LOL

I do not like to play volleyball because it hurts my forearms!! I get bruises! Plus I jammed my finger once in gym class playing volleyball - I could barely do anything normal with that hand!
